Redefining Success for High Achievers

I searched "success" in my Notes App and found 786 entries.
I often call myself a success coach.
Success isn't an outcome, a productivity metric, or a destination. Success is living a life on purpose—one that's intentional, deliberate, and consistent.
One that generates joy, ease, and impact for you and others.
This is success alignment.
My AML diagnosis transformed my understanding of success. Now I'm on a mission to help high achievers define and live success before a health crisis or burnout forces their hand. Just this week, a woman shared that after listening to my keynote, she committed to living on purpose not default. She committed to her health and spending more time with her two kids under three, all while creating a record-breaking business year. Three months since the keynote, she'd also lost 25 pounds.
Your decisions about allocating your time, energy, and talent ultimately shape your life's strategy. This is the foundation of success alignment.
I regularly check my alignment, and more often than not, I need a reset. Pausing for clarity must become a non-negotiable. Too often, I hear that you don't have time or that you simply forgot. When you avoid slowing down to audit how things are going, it shows up as feeling stuck, sensing something's off, or working hard with nothing to show for it.
Daniel Priestley, who is a bestselling author and owner of seven businesses, says you're personally aligned when these three elements work together:
Your origin story: Everything that got you where you are today
Your vision: What you've committed to creating for your future
Your mission: Your highest value work
Alignment knits these elements together. When you are in alignment, it feels like a straight line across these three, producing a state of 'flow' or flow state energy.
When aligned, you tap into life force energy:
Energy is generated from feelings
Feelings create vibrations
Vibrations become your vibe
Your vibe is your value
Today, grab a notebook and find a quiet space to pause. Rate each area from 1 (not even close) to 5 (feeling in the flow):
Work
Health
Relationships
Spiritual
[Add your own]
For ratings of 2-3: What would move this to a 4 or 5?
For anything below 3: Why are you tolerating this?
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it. ”
Reframe Your Success Mindset
Every result you've created has come from a thought. You cannot become what you don't think -- on purpose. Your thoughts about success shape your reality. They influence what you believe and attract.
Borrow some of these thoughts to help rewire your brain toward purposeful and aligned success:
Success isn't just strategy—it's a state of being
Success that costs your freedom isn't success—it's a trap
Success isn't titles, money, or things (though they're often outcomes)
Success means surrounding yourself with the right environment, resources, and experiences
Success and health are inseparable
Success is sustainable when it serves both your ambition and your soul
Speak your success into existence.
Know that our brains are wired for survival, not for success. Make defining and updating your success definition a regular practice of pausing to reflect and become committed.

If I'm thinking from my future and not my fear:
What am I thinking about?
Who am I becoming?
What will I thank myself for a year from now?
My vibe this week will be full of these feelings___________________.
My priority is _____. What does it look like to give it enough time this week?
